Another Night
As always, there is a nightfall,
But extraordinary, like a ball.
Soon the sky begins to darken,
And night, to everyone, does call.
Flowers bloom in a lovely white,
Stars shine, but seem more bright.
Then along the wind blows in
The powerful magic of the night.
The music awakens the soul
Of everything, from soil to gold.
Fairies appear and they waltz,
And the music still plays, bold.
Like Endymion the night did seem;
Like Diana, the moon shone her beam.
At last, the music stopped and
Like before, nobody was ever keen.
High above was the break of dawn,
The night cold, and no longer warm.
The fairies and winds did retreat;
For they knew, another night would be born.
