the salted branch
slid down my throat
and skittish hands shuffled
over the nervous
demeanor
of the room.
dim and warm,
yet uninviting
cold relations and
a clown-like display
of the shrine
of another
who’s passed on
like
the father.
you’ve allowed
his memory to
dissolve.
but i won’t.
and
shall not!
