My Brother and I
All of the things I’ve seen
And all of the things I’ve tried
Nicotine, the green
For all of this, my soul and I cried.
All my life, I’m forever fighting
The hidden, powerful, and defeating
The Love
So bright, it’s blinding
The Dark
So deep, it’s unseen
The internal war between
Being me
Or feeling anything
But I’m not trying to hide
Even though
In the past, I lied
I felt I had nowhere to go
So
My mind had to decide
To listen to my heart
Or to kill what’s deep inside
No
I know now that I’m stronger
These Demons won’t win
I will never give in
Bro
You’re doing the same
Fighting the dark
But just know
That you only need a spark
To start a flame
The Fire, once lit
Continue to fuel it
You have the life-force
The Desire
You’ve found your source
No longer a liar
Forever me and you
We’ll feel the light
We’ll feel the night
We’ll always fight
For what is right
For Honor
Although, You and I
We’re not able to ride
Round’ n round’ the town
“Just cause why not”
And for this I cried
But know this
You’re in my thoughts
You’re my bro
The Gemini
I love you man.

-For my Brother, Alexander Arthur Mantell
While I'm having to battle my demons, regarding substances and some personal internal issues, my brother is training for the United States Navy. He needs to know that everyone has the strength to overcome any obstacle, no matter how overwhelmingly powerful.
Even yourself.
