Kaleidoscope Vision

Life shattered me
And splintered my child’s mind
Fragmenting the way I used to see the world
But now I see the world through kaleidoscope eyes
And everything around me bursts and spins
In these fractured pieces of beauty
That catch the light
In a million ways to be grateful
So I thank God for these kaleidoscope eyes
Because some hearts only reveal
The pearls and treasure within
When they’re broken
