In My Dreams
you’re bad for me, i know you’re bad for me
but i still love you
i love you not for who you are
but for who i wish that you could be
i love you in spite of the pain
i love you for the fleeting happiness you give me
i love you in the way that i stand at the edge of a balcony
staring longingly down at the ground
i love you in the way that my knuckles whiten as i clasp the wheel
daydreaming of flooring the gas and colliding into a tree
i love you like i’ve never loved before
i love you in the same way that i hate myself
the day you left me i downed a bottle of sleeping pills
but that’s okay, i always liked you better in my dreams
