What Beauty Is
Beauty is a poison,
Slowly changing a person,
Until they aren’t themselves,
Changing them until their unrecognizable.
Beauty is a sin,
Stealing angels for a darkness,
That craves to rip every morsel of happiness.
Taking and taking until there’s nothing left.
Beauty is a fire,
Engulfing everything with its heat,
Burning, Charring, Blackening,
Irreversible damage permanently stained on everything it ever touches.
Beauty is an Evil,
That wishes to crush every heart,
Leave shallow minds, and self-hatred,
Breaking souls until they can’t be called souls.
But beauty is truly just a concept,
A notion that objectifies people,
People with feelings and hurts,
Beauty is not real,
And it won’t hurt me,
Because it can’t
I won’t give it that power.
