Do You Promise?
I’ll meet you in the morning when dawn breaks.
You never promised you’d be there,
And you never even said goodbye,
But I trust that you’ll be there
Waiting.
There was no reason to ask,
And I was never given a chance,
But do you love me?
In the morning, tell me.
When the sun is rising, casting light upon a new day,
Tell me you love me.
The air will be bright and sweet,
And we’ll shine.
You’ll spin me around in your arms
And tell me that you never meant it.
You’ll tell me that you love me,
And the rest will have never happened.
Do you promise?
I’m sure you do.
You have, for the most part,
Been kind to me.
So please, don’t forget.
