As Shade MAG
Similes were hard to grasp as a child –
Sitting in my world of sadness –
Wondering
How one
Could compare things
And end up saying:
“A dream, like a boat on uncharted waters”
Had any amount of truth.
How is golden like Mykonos?
How is the moon as bright as hope?
I sat confused as frustration
As cool and menacing
As shade
Swept over me.
Shade is not like bitterness.
Shade is not like shelter.
Shades are what I wear to hide the fact
That I cannot compare
Life to a poem.
