Schools Out!
The most annoying sound in this world,
Is what woke me up from a year’s sleep this morning!
Seemed like my clock sprang to life!
TRING! TRING! TRINNGGG! It rang!
I see -
My
Eyelids,
With weights on them,
My hair,
As electrocuted as ever,
My mouth,
As dry as sand.
I hear,
“Wake Up! Wake Up! Wake Up!”
While my mom makes her way to my bed,
In her bright red and white gown,
At the drop of a hat,
I,
Then manage to move,
My 50 kilos body,
Onto the floor,
As cold as ice!
My walk to the bathroom is,
slow as a snail,
dull as a dishwasher,
And clumsy as a clown.
I brush my teeth,
I take my bath,
And run into the hall,
Fresher. Than. E V E R.
“My first day of school!” I screamed,
My family members confused,
Is he happy?
or
Is he angry?
or
Is he nervous?
I then broke,
The doubt,
Like a shattered

O W!
I’ll see my teachers,
I’ll see my friends,
I’ll see my school,
I ran and ran,
And sniffled and sniffled,
With almost no oxygen left,
I screamed - “I am here!”
Just at the nick of time!
TRING! TRING! TRINNNG!
The school bell rang.

I was inspired to write this piece because it is a very relatable time for all students in the world. Anyone going to school can closely relate to this poem making it a little more interactive for everyone!
