Rough around the edges but still poetic in its ways
Secrets to be kept at a hushed tone
Travel along its thin lines
All in a day's work
Time goes by week at a time
Lost in thought
Lost in your eyes
A dying cigarette hanging in your fingertips
Ashes fall to the floor
Smoke clouding around your face
Staining your skin in the moment
I let out a sigh
We sit in silence
I grasp my pen and click away the time
A fresh sheet of paper lay exposed on my lap
I date the page and wait for inspiration…
