Thicker than ice
is the door that
separates our meeting.
My hand resorts to violence
after groping for a door knocker
that doesn’t exist.
Will he smile with too much moonlight?
Will his hands gently cradle his teacup?
Will he think me too… Something?
This is more than an encounter;
warmth seeps out from behind the door
and crawls up my socked feet.
I wonder what he thinks of the color white.
