Hanging Happiness: the gardens built for a queen
The dried up greens sit
still in the stale breeze.
Looking out, I watch
miles of inelegance run on and on.
Home is so far . . .
I take each step up
pretending they are rocks.
Closing my eyes with
one deep breath, I climb mountains.
Home is so far. . .
Suddenly I am filled
with almond scents,
purple sights and love.
Emptiness trickles out through my toes.
Home is so far. . .
The shades of emerald sway above
a city buzz, hanging
from the vast, bright blue.
Our royal love blossoms with every flower.
Home is so far. . .
I come to the top of
this beauty built for me.
I clear my mind
but still,
Home is so far. . .
