My heart aches

For yours

And I can't help,

But wonder,

If you miss me too.

You are so far

From me now;

Time has slipped away

And, like a current,

Has pulled you away too.

I see you now

And my heart

Sinks

You are so unlike

Yourself these

Days,

My dear

We used to be

Young,

And unaware

Of anything beyond

The playground

But times have

Changed

And so have

You

But don't worry

My Darling,

I'll still be

Here

When you comb through

Memories

Like Black and White

Photographs

From lifetimes ago

I hope you

Have a photo of

My smile and a

Recording of my

Laugh

In your box of

The past

Where have you

Gone,

My Darling?

I miss the old you

I miss the one

who I'd

Chase around the

Playground;

The one who,

On the last day of

Childhood and said to me,

"I'll miss you."

The you I see

Now is not the one

I once knew

I miss my friend

And I wonder if

You miss me too

Am I simply a

Memory or evidence

Of time passed?

I miss you,

My Darling, and I hope you'll

See

That you were far

More than just a

Black and white Photograph

To me.
