Requiem

Aquaplanes resurrect
cataracts of foam,
secluded
cape on rough
stretch of jagged, slippery
rocks, dotting the beach
like stars of reverie

Under discord’s cover
the dreamers cry,
Thor’s hammer!
Centuries purified
of erosion
and corrosion, a
titan’s
majestic underwater cave

Cascade
the cove in against
seafoamy blanket
filling the well, the howling
force so violent--
Man hear jungle
trodden, unlatched, demonic
then very modest.

Retreat back down
slowly, swarming into
mirage
then all at once--
No war dies frankly.
Gateway to the underworld,
numbing black velvet
shooting up,
swallowed.

Gaze
at the endless cycle,
aggression tumble grace
Here lies the sailor.
