Falling Like Alice
I fall like Alice in Wonderland
I don’t know where I’m going
I don’t know where I’ve been
I just tumble face forward
and try to forget the pain I’m in.
I try to forget where I was,
where I could be,
what’s holding me back,
what won’t let me free.
My world’s an asylum,
a distorted reality.
Full of monsters and nightmares
that frequent my dreams.
I feel so sick,
so dizzy,
so gone.
I f***ed up my life,
it f***ed up me.
It’s endless war
with endless pain.
A war that should be over
but it’s just begun.
A war with no one
but dear old me.
I can’t tell you the last time
I knew where I was going
I knew where I had been
I wasn’t really falling
I wasn’t in,
a misbegotten wonderland.
