Feet caressing the floor couches yawning
I stay still; pale existence
Swoosh of air whisk of hair
Sound of Silence.

I see the piano
I see his
Fingers drifting drowsily down
Key stroke
    Sending
          Vibrations
Attacks
Me like a winter breeze
Penetrates me
   Prickles me
Surrounds me
   Satiates me
Food for the soul.

Melody so sweet
Scratching velvet, smoothing soap
Smoothing velvet, scratching soap
World tilts in my head
Heavy head leading me astray

It's almost time.

Just keep it going

Scales sail storms
Of passions and emotions
Little lives in my little life
Just keep it going
Just keep it going

My body, so light and numb
As if a speck of movement
Would ripple the feeble
Air
How simple
Forgotten pleasure

I live in a train never stopping
Didn't build the railroad.
This little music -
Just for today
Just keep it going

Eyes closed to see
Hands holding tight onto the vacuum
Just keep it going
Just keep it going
Just keep it going

The author's comments:

I sat in a lounge where there was a piano. Anyone could go there and play, and so I heard some songs. Being a composer myself, I wished the music never stopped. I related to my life more generally - the fact that even though I have a little talent I need to continue with the prescribed academic subjects. This is why the theme is loss in a manner - I live in a train never stopping, eventually we need to let go of the little stops and continue on our paths. Don't worry, I'm learning to build part of my railroad. (The piano image - the black keys make a railroad)
