I stroll by my church on my street
The parking lot is empty on Thursday
Only to be filled on Sunday
There is a big cross on the wall
A symbol that captures our attention instantaneously
As it glows and glistens in the dark
The church is a warm welcoming place
To worship the lord and the world surrounding us
As I walk
Runners, dog walkers, and drivers pass me left and right
Runners have the look of exhaustion and sweat dripping off their face
Dog walkers look relaxed and joyful, as their dogs sprint wildly, waiting for the next squirrel to chase
Drivers express numerous attitudes
Some happy, some depressed, some angry
Squirrels, squirrels, and more squirrels.
It seems they run the animal kingdom here.
They are doing their usual routines
Like running in front of cars, climbing trees, and chasing each other.
A bowling alley almost completely empty,
But yet lights up like vegas
Plain on the outside, but christmas inside
Shady on the outside, but friendly on the inside
So many people pass it thinking what a dump it looks like
Yet, have no idea what is waiting for them
On the other side of that door
