My heart has layers,
Walls to protect it.

On the inside,
At its core,
It is cold and dark,
A hollow shell I must protect.

My heart has thick layers of concrete,

to take the damage,

every hit creating one more crack.

Resulting in more walls,
making it a difficult journey,
Not many get past my armor only to see who I am.

When they do,

They realize the chaotic disaster I possess.

Until then,
You see the mask I use as a disguise,
It fools many but,
Very few understand.

My scars were meant to bleed,
but also heal
my past has yet to let me recover

My heart is all I have left,
I create walls, push people away,
only to stay safe and independant

My Heart is my life.
