Blank Pages
Look around, don’t you see it?
a thousand blank canvases
weight of a feather
descendant of a trees
stolen from nature
stored in drawers
not any different from their neighbor
But, each has the potential to be
Life rattling
Unique
A drawing for a toddler.
The therapy for a damaged teenager.
The love note,
or the death sentence.
The cash check that restores lives,
or the bill that dumps humans onto streets.
A goal sheet.
The first draft of a story that will change millions.
The test that causes stress,
or the report card that prove you did it.
The Christmas list,
the bucket list,
the doctor’s note,
a suicide note.
A papermachey,
a letter to family,
a birth certificate.
Origami.
Posters that spread awareness.
Newspapers that spark uprisings and riots.
A cat scan report.
A resume.
The diary of a child.
The homework that helped you understand.
The quote that changed your life.
Or,
it can be crumpled by others,
thrown in the trash
never knowing
what it could be.
