I Told You So

Don't make me say I told you so
Just that one line
Stuck on repeat in my mind
When the anxiety began to rise
Your voice became louder
Louder and louder
Until my lips began to form the words
Hush whispers escaping my breath
With every second spent
And every word he said
Turned the dial
Increasing the mania
But I left
Letting the night enwrap me in its darkness
Now proudly I can say
I didn't make you say I told you so
