My Dog Jake

Jake
He was the best hunter
Nose to the ground
Tail out
Eyes lurking
Always alert
Only took a snap of a twig
And he would be off.
He found a pheasant
And kicked it out of its nest
Flying high
Bang
The gun went off
Shooting the bullet fast through the air
Straight at the bird.
As it came spiraling down
He tracked it
And sprinted to catch it
Snatch
He grasped it
Sinking his teeth into its dead flesh
He ran it over to my dad
Where he was rewarded
And then was off to do the same
Yet again.
