The Color Red
I’m hot from my ears
to my toes.
I feel it spreading,
like wildfire,
all through my body.
My heart beats,
thump, thump, thump.
The clashing of fear,
hurt,
rage,
coming together as one.
United.
It is heavy, like a downpour,
but not a downpour of rain.
It isn’t water.
It isn’t kind.
I see red.
I feel red.
Anger.
It resides in us all.
