Storm
The wind pried at the very foundations of the house.
The rain pounded on the worn roof.
Lightning illuminated the room through every window.
And thunder shook the walls of the house
As the sky turned dark and all happiness was lost.
School is cancelled
Streets are left behind
And sports fields are abandoned
For the chill in the air has blown the crowd away.
The dark clouds hover overhead
The blustery breeze whistles through the air
The slippery streets are buried in wet leaves
The people stare out their windows with knowing eyes
They know that the storm has come
For the feeling in the air had told them
