The Forest

I see a forest
A forest that is dark and mysterious
I know I've been here before in other dreams, other lifetimes, other memories
The trees hide many secrets that the forest has been given
The darkness hides the secrets so they can never be found
I wish to unlock the secrets of the forest, only to grasp on to some sort of hope
I wonder if one day I'll look up and see the clouds descend to let the sun shine through
I wonder if the forest's secrets will ever be revealed
Or if I'll ever find the light

I have this dream where I'm stuck in a dark forest and I do not know why I'm there. I find myself looking for the sunlight to maybe find my way out. I wrote this piece to figure out what the forest means to me.
