Drive it like you stole it.

You think the second time around,
they’d learn the signs.
They’d had seen it in their oldest,
the skipping meals,
the time spent alone.
Do you know what its like to watch your little sister fall apart,
and you’re the only one who seems to notice.
Because, all you do is notice.
You knew when you boy friend was about to have a panic attack,
when your mother was lying about where she had been,
and when your sister began to fall apart.
All you do is notice,
and when you can't take it anymore,
it’s all you can do.
No matter how high you raise your voice,
how many people you ask for help.
All you can do is notice the way she falls apart in your arms,
is the same way you fell apart in a dark room.

So when no one noticed,
they called you a liar,
an attention seeker,
because they hadn’t noticed.
So it couldn't be happening, right?

They hadn’t noticed,
so it didn’t happen.
They hadn’t noticed,
so it didn’t happen.
They hadn’t noticed,
so it didn’t happen.

But it did happen,
they just didn’t notice.
