Throwing Down the Flame

He's los his will.
People have fought and people have killed,
Just to hold on to that.
To grasp it in both hands,
To hold it like a bat,
Waiting to swing it past the stands.
Gone is gone.
Can't have this all re-drawn.
He gave it up for money, for fame, for whatever you call it.
And now he's desperately trying to get his match re-lit.
