Mahatma Gandhi
He spoke, and they did not listen.
He cried, and they did not care.
He wanted equally and peace and they wanted segregation and power.
He prayed, and they ignored him.
As he starves himself, they eat.
As his stomach growls, they watched.
After six days he finally ate.
His spoken words were finally heard.
His cries were finally noted.
He wanted equally and peace, and they gave it to him.
His prayers were finally answered.
As he ate, they cried tears of joy.
As his stomach no longer growls, they smile.
His stomach was full of food and his heart was full of love.
He fought for freedom without hurting anyone.
He brought hope to a country in despair.
He found light in a shadow.
He taught the world about nonviolence.
He preached and believed that everyone is equal.
He was the father of the his nation.
His love and kindness conquered the hearts of many.
Without any wealth or kingdom-
He ruled many people with kind hands.
Everyone loved him and obeyed him.
All his life he gave and cared.
Everyone thought that he was immortal-
Until he was hit by a heavy bullet.
The bullet pierced his body,
But the bullet didn't pierce this soul.
He may be dead,
But we will never forget what he sacrificed and taught us.
He is Mahatma Gandhi.
