So I did
I chose to fulfill my dream of auditioning for a singing show and put medical school to the side for a bit
What are you doing! That’s your future you’re throwing away!
But I followed my heart I told them just like you said
Honey, sometimes your heart is… well… not as good to follow as your brain is. I mean you understand that the singing isn’t going to get you anywhere. What kind of future do you want for your children? Think of all the opportunities and prosperity that medical school can bring.

They lied.
They were driven by ambition but me
I was driven by the hope to be happy. To want to have no regrets
I may not know what the future holds but I know that the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams
And I do.
