On the outside
On the outside she’s happy and smiling,
But on the inside she’s crying and dying.
On the outside her clothes hide it all,
But on the inside her tummy’s got so small.
On the outside they say she looks beautiful,
But on the inside she knows it’s not true.
On the outside she feels revolting,
But on the inside her body’s still holding.
On the outside she wants to feel fine,
But on the inside she cries more each time.
On the outside her life is still living,
But on the inside she’s barely breathing.
On the outside her body looks okay,
But on the inside it rots a little more each day.
On the outside she’s holding on so tight,
But on the inside she gave up last night.
