Elephant in the Room

Please don't
Ignore me again.
I hate talking
Outside of my head
But I need to talk to someone now.
Why are you ignoring him?
He is the elephant in the room.
We all care,
So much,
But we can't discuss it.
I don't want him to be the elephant,
But he will not cease,
Because no one will listen.

I wrote this poem when my grandfather was battling cancer.
