Kindness Costs Nothing
The falling snow piled on top of a bus stop roof.
A young boy underneath the biting humid cold huddles into a shivering ball
on a green metal bench that is forming jagged ice crystals.
The loud clacking of heels approach him in a hurriedly pace.
A tall lady walked briskly past him as her breath condensed into the air.
She stopped; Heartless clusters of people before her didn’t look twice.
The woman covered the boy in her long, black coat with a brown fur lining on the hood.
It shielded him from the gusts of wind and faded his goosebump skin.
He looked at her with thankful eyes. She smiled and walked off, continuing her busy day.
Although outside was bleak and the lakes have frozen over,
the kindness of this stranger was enough to warm the boy’s heart.

I think this is the best poem I have ever wrote. In school before, poetry felt like a chore to do. Now I think it's a little more fun.
