Man in a Grey Suit

Wind pulls waves towards shore;
kids splash, surfers ride.
The sun softly shines
on a perfect day.
“Man in a grey suit,”
a surfer calls out.
The shark approaches.
Few swimmers are calm,
others run to shore.
Suddenly, it starts--
the vicious attack.
Panicked fear flickers
in everyone's eyes.
Blood turns water red.
Scared screams fill the air.
Everybody clears
the lethal ocean.
Death and destruction,
dealt in daunting droves
from the mighty shark.
The shark returns to
his territory:
the deep, dark water.
Grey suit stained with blood.
