I look through the eyes of my enemy and I see something more,
Someone who has a lot of pain and scars left from the war.
The war we all got through, it’s called life in full swing
It keeps pushing and prodding until death gives out its ring.
My enemy has been through death and heartache,
Just how much more suffering can they take?
Tell me, how many more tears have to drop
Until all the hurt finally stops.
I see a strong soul who has been through hell and back,
Who has dealt with multitudes of problems yet still has yet to crack.
A person who takes a lot of crap from the people they love,
Yet still manages to keep their mind above.
To keep their mind above all of the backstabbing liars,
Yet they can’t help but to get burned by the innocent looking fire.
Who is this person? Why do I even care?
Why has life treated them so unfair?
This person is me, in the heart and in the soul,
I am my own enemy, nobody else plays that role.
I am the weapon to my own demise,
I am the helpless receiver to all of these murderous lies.
I am my own enemy although I wish it weren’t true,
Be cautious my friend because you’re your worst enemy too.

It's nicer to think dear, pretty thoughts and keep them in one's heart, like treasures. I don't like to have them laughed at or wondered over.
