It’s magical….thank you
I don’t care if you believe it to be or not
I don’t care if you think it is boring, lame or unsatisfactory
You are still watching it till the very end
Until the curtain closes
And the clapping roars
And the lights dim black
And while you sit there in your red velvet seat
Complaining about the script you didn’t write
My audience will be clamorous
Speaking highly about the actors I auditioned
And the musicians I chose and borrowed from Julliard herself

You won’t be invited to the after party
You will still be stuck in that red velvet chair waiting for your date
Who I did invite to the party
Who, unlike you, liked my prized masterpiece

She is sitting with me now actually
Sipping coffee
Eating biscuits
And complementing my dress
Which I got from Paris last summer
She hadn’t stopped shaking my hand since she met me
She keep asking me what I thought of my play
And I told her humbly that it was just okay

My garden of lush admires pamper me all night
Peppering me with smiles and winks
And once that party ends
And my help cleans my party’s classy mess
I make my way to my theater
The one you are still sitting in
Waiting for you wife, who went home with another man

Your face is blue
And your patients is growing thin
As the minutes on your Rolex tick closer to midnight
The time you desire to be tucked into bed
Which both you and I know isn’t going to happen

I approach you and my stage
That is still sprinkled with the mystic charm from tonight’s performance
You don’t realize who I am when I take a seat next to you
You greet me with a sticky smile and you lick your chapped lips
You’re attractive I’ll give you that
But you still chewed apart my play so I still consider you a pain in my a**
You say hello
I give you a hi back
You instantly flirt with me, forgetting about your wife, as you lather me in complements
The same ones I’ve gotten all night
Then you start complaining about my play again
Which I find highly annoying
And once you ask me what I thought of it
I stand up
Walk into the isle and say
It was magical…thank you
