It doesn't matter
that we don't have the same blood.
We're still a family.
Maybe we're not the family
we all wanted it to be.
Maybe we're a broken one,
but we're all still family.
And we're a family,
whether you like it or not.

The author's comments:
This was originally a letter to one of my parents, but then I made it into a poem. I started thinking about how my letter/poem can be used for all of us. We are all a family. We are all brothers and sisters. So what if we're not related or that we don't have the same DNA??? We're still a family, despite that we are all different. I know that to have a family, you don't have to have the same blood. I know this because I am adopted and my family isn't related to me or putting it another way, I am not related to them. But doesn't matter. What I'm basically saying and what does matter, is that we're family.

This is very short, but still quite touching, escpecially after you read the author's comment. Oh, and I think it ends a little abruptly. Maybe go on? Great job, I loved it. This is definitely five stars. Keep writing!
