'The snow in the mountains was melting and Bunny had been dead for several months before we came to realise the gravity of our situation'.

I was drunk,
the streetlamps knew it aswell.
Walking to get my bike
I met
A marching band
'Play us a tune!' somebody shouted
drunk no doubt.
Obligatory drumroll. He laughed. He was a
gentleman.
Bikepark neon exasperated sigh
Warm air to kiss my face
i thought of
France
and you.
It was like making a paperchain, I thought
Small thud of satisfaction, somewhere
below my centre. Bike hugged the railings
Cold embrace! I thought.
I thought of you and of
Hot breath
Cold hands.
I breathed out, you weren't there
The pub surrounded me
That thin layer of skin a mesh
One knick and I would have been a part of
the landscape
Upstairs, cold lights red eyes.
Salty air
Contracted pupils, to shut out the world
and dilated
Big as orbs big as cherry stones. To let me in

The author's comments:
I wrote this when I was drunk. Its about a contrast in the girl I know, how she sees me when she's on different types of drugs, and also when she's sober. On the monday we had had an argument in the upstairs of a pub. On thursday I was back there again.
