"Life isn’t about how to survive the storm, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.” — Taylor Swift

I was told to paint what I see
and not what I know

that the first step in creating something new
is learning how to create something real

but how can I do that
when I look out my window and see flowers

how can I only paint flowers
when the world is so much bigger than that

how am I supposed to ignore
all the complexities in life

I don’t think I can paint what I see
I was never even told to paint what I see

I read it in a book once
my whole world is in my head

how can I paint flowers when in my
head it is so much more colorful

yes
it is much more colorful in my head

so much more

“Gods of Olympus.” Piper stared at Leo. “What happened to you?”
His hair was greased back. He had welding goggles on his forehead, a lipstick mark on his cheek, tattoos all over his arms, and a T-shirt that read HOT STUFF, BAD BOY, and TEAM LEO.
“Long story,” he said.”

This poem is very intellectual. From my understanding, people are being pressured to see one point of view but why can't people see from all angles?Only when people see things from all angles can we truly incorporate the view with the world and vice versa. Sorry this is so confusing! I really like how your poem made me wonder. Nice piece!
