A Myriad of Emotion

I still see her in my mind
I can only reminisce with thoughts that linger
With a longing for companionship
It’s her and I, left amongst the expanse of the universe
Together
Just
Us
Humbled in the muck of our sin
It’s thought provoking, shameful, yet rapturous, ecstatic...
A tsunami of colliding emotions
She knows how damned I am
I know how damned she is
This is not to say our fates are sealed
We just know that we are
Nothing
But
Human
We penetrate each other’s souls
Eyes beaming
They are glistening with tears
They are tears of fear, of unrelenting joy
Tears of love...
We embrace our shaking bodies
Our lips quivering
Our hot breaths saturating the air between us
Passion
The only word
Worthy of describing this moment in space-time
There is the constant interweaving of eros, philos, and agape...
I struggle to remember that exquisite night
That evening when we were face to face
Swaying to the melody
As we embraced one another
The backdrop of the stars
The pellucid river
The glorified clock tower
Deep blue, royal purple cosmos
All this
As
Our
Canvas

This poem is my view of a relationship that reflects possibly the most passionate and emotional aspects of love. I tried to demonstrate the true vulnerability of a pair: when each person knows the sins of the other; The man at the mercy of the woman, and the woman at the mercy of the man.
