The Most Painful Battle

The battle had ended for a while,
three days, it had not hurt me.
My wounds only start to heel,
and they burn when my tears hit them.
The battle was with horrible monsters,
I closed my eyes to escape them.
They showed up beneath my sealed eyes more than anywhere else.
The battle started again,
pushing pain through my body,
controlling my hands,
the blood started to flow.
The horrible monsters were thoughts.
They only died when I did.
