Hero Turned Victim

Noisy town
Full of honking cars and barking dogs.
A man, marked as a hero
But treated as a victim
Stands at the intersection
Begging for help in his
Helpless life.
Suddenly,
A hand pops out of a window
Bringing forth
A wrinkly, worn dollar that matches his hands,
But not just a dollar.
It brought Hope
It brought back happiness,
That there is still help in his life.
All he has to do is show them
How he became
A Hero turned Victim.
