Favorite Quote:
“The only thing that I see that is distinctly different about me is I'm not afraid to die on a treadmill. I will not be out-worked, period. You might have more talent than me, you might be smarter than me, you might be sexier than me, you might be all of those things you got it on me in nine categories. But if we get on the treadmill together, there's two things: You're getting off first, or I'm going to die. It's really that simple, right?
You're not going to out-work me. It's such a simple, basic concept. The guy who is willing to hustle the most is going to be the guy that just gets that loose ball. The majority of people who aren't getting the places they want or aren't achieving the things that they want in this business is strictly based on hustle. It's strictly based on being out-worked; it's strictly based on missing crucial opportunities. I say all the time if you stay ready, you ain't gotta get ready.”

― Will Smith

I can't watch the news

I can’t watch the news because it commits an unbearable sin

Something so sick and so twisted

It causes the world to bend

I can't watch the news because it tells truth

But not THE truth, no, that's not the way it's ever been

Because every time I turn on CNN it's evident

The truth has never been so irrelevent because of it's many definitions

You see, the truth you see on TV is a matter of perspective

The truth is a machine with one part that's defective

And yeah it's only one, insignificant in some views

But if that's the one you share just let me ask you

Did the United States liberate Iraq?

Or did they just kill civilians?

Was 9/11 Al-Quaeda?

Or should your government be under suspicion?

The truth is a wheel that never stops turning

Which side is up? Which side is down?

It prevents us from learning

Everything that we deserve to know

Is Russia taking the Ukraine?

Or are they bringing Crimea home?

In the West they'll tell you, "Yes, Putin must be stopped."

But in Russia they say "Crimea wanted to be dropped"

By Ukraine, and go ahead, rack your brain

Pick a side, prepare to fight

But either way you'll be slain

For in the war for truth there can be no winner

When the chains of viewpoint and opinion get you tangled

Web-spinner

And the air is getting thinner, it's harder to breathe

Your perception is getting suffocated, you can't see

And the demons of this world will tear it apart

Because if tensions keep rising, World War Three's gonna start

And we won't even know who's at fault

The truth hidden from us by a great wall

Of nationalism and over zealous pride

But does that make it right for the women and children that have died?

In missile strikes piercing the night like a cry asking why but they'll never get the truth

In a world ravaged by a drought of security and knowledge

Tormented by an insatiable thirst for it

Kids just wanna go to college

And yet they can barely afford to

Since when is my education on the same level as running shoes

And they tell you the kids who make those nice shoes

Are safe

They get paid

But we know that's just one truth

That these kids work hard

Yet they starve

They have buildings collapse on to

Their heads and still to who belongs that truth?

You see I’ve finally figured it out

It’s quite simple really

The truth doesn’t exist

It’s just one big mystery

Because every country and person will tell you something different

The truth is a guessing game , it’s all about inference

But this isn’t just me just trying to make noise

Take a second to listen before you think I’m being paranoid

I’m not telling you to live in a shack

With a tin hat

That’s whacked

And it sure as hell’s not my message

My point is for you to question what you hear

Have faith in your knowledge

And if not that then your heart

That’s the important part

Because at the end it’s fairly distinct

We’re only animals

We all rely on instinct

Awesome! It is so frustrating how biased the news and history textbooks can be, and the brainwashing effect the news has on even some of the most intelligent people. Some have such a hard time doubting or finding fault in what the government tells them. It's great to know there is someone else out there who atually gets it and cares enough  to put it in a poem. Great work.
