Where I'm from
I am from empty canvases,
The broken records, and celestial dreams.
I am from the seas of galaxies
within the lines of poetry.
I am from the sublime rhymes
Of Hughes, Dickenson, and Poe
And inside the crystalline imagination
Of Picasso, Raphael, and Van Gogh.
I’m from the missing pages
Scrawled by anonymous authors.
And, like my forefathers,
I breathe ink
And bleed water colors.
I’m from the starry nights
Which radiates so blissfully
I’m beneath the crackled, chipped keys
That performed Mozart’s symphonies.
I came from a place,
That’s infused with serenity.
Where memories are sung
In lullabies of tranquility.
