It’s bright outside
as the blinding,
bright light shines
down on the
diamond.

I get into position
while the hitter
gets in the box.

The ball comes
in like a bullet,
hitting my glove
with a thud.

Last out for the
game. As my team
and I look down at
the only diamond
that doesn't shine.
