Beyond The Prison Bars

No longer am i behind the prison bars
of your despair and torture
i did my time of emptiness
now i'm alive and can breathe again
locked up for so very long
never able to break free
but now i'm back to living life
of pure happiness and joy
i was gone for two years
off in the darkness of your mind
the light finally peaked through
as i figured you out after all this time
no longer will my eyes be filled with tears
or my heart with agonizing pain
i have my independence back
although i'm left with unerasable memories
