“The power of a glance has been so much abused in love stories, that it has come to be disbelieved in. Few people dare now to say that two beings have fallen in love because they have looked at each other. Yet it is in this way that love begins, and in this way only.”

You talk about this new girl,
The one that will brighten up your day,
Make your life worth living again.
The girl of your dreams, which you’ve never even met.

I think about this boy,
This one boy that I can't seem to stop smiling over,
The one I am constantly crying over.

We both love this person,
One, whom you’ve never met,
One I’ve gotten to touch.

I conjure and mold the most beautiful things for this boy,
The one that breaks me and builds me up.
This boy that makes careless promises.
Promises he has no intention of keeping.
But promises I can’t help but believe.

You dream of this girl.
The one who’s perfect for you, flawless in your eyes.
Nothing but everything to you.

All I keep thinking to myself is how am I not that girl?
How am I not good enough, but you’re everything to me...
The boy in love with a girl he’s never met,
When I am standing right in front of you.
That’s all I can ever think.
I am never good enough.

How can we be so close but so far apart?
What the use, you’re never going to love me.
Save the promises for the girl of your dreams.

I do not want to be around if she breaks your heart.
I do not want to be your second choice.
I really want to be done playing a supporting role,
I want the starring role in your heart.

You’re my teen idle.
You sat up wishing, and
Those wishes came true.
But you got me, and I'm not what you wanted.

I can not do this without you.
You played me like she played you.
Do you like breaking promises?
Hurting me?

You really don’t see what you’re doing to me,
Or maybe you do and you just don’t have the heart to be honest.
The audacity to think of someone other than yourself.
Tell me what I already know.
Because you know if I ever decide to leave you alone.
That’s what will happen, you’ll be alone.

Then we are back to the beginning of this tragedy.

Being alone scares you,
While losing you terrifies me.
