Waiting
I am lost in a labyrinth of patience
Where no stars dot the night sky
and people lay in waiting
For something distant to come by
And so I sit and bide my time
Waiting for inches to bleed off my sides
Waiting for some mundane warmth
To wash over me like the tides
Waiting for the last of this poison
to drain from the edges of my mind
Waiting to pick up the pieces of the mirror
That turned my hazel eyes blind
Waiting for the burns across my face
To change back into pale hues
Waiting for the ashes to peel away
And finally show something new
