I see nature
It surrounds us all
One must give it nurture
Or else it will fall

I hear those birds
So happy and hopeful
If only we took their example
And made a few gleeful chirps

I feel the wind
Tickle my skin
It makes me feel like a new man
Getting away from his sin

I taste the rain
Opening my mouth
Receiving it being sane
I fill myself up like a troth

I smell the pollen
As it fills up my nostrils
Makes me sneeze out of control
Oh, you can hear me callin'

Nature surrounds us all
Give it nurture
So that it will not fall

thanks, I agree with you, it's not my best writing in the world. Most of my writing on this site is stuff I slap together in 5 minutes because teenink owns any work you submit. Like, there's a poem I wrote that people have told me I need to take to a publisher, but I won't post it on this site because then they would own it. Lol, I have a very wide variety in musical taste, and actually my tastes are changing all the time. Right now I'm on a Brian Crain(pianist) craze, and Taylor Swift isn't even someone I listen to anymore(although too lazy to change my profile..:p).

By the way, I think it's worth adding that other than my sister, you're the only person I "know" who would list Taylor Swift, Maccabeats, and Matisyahu in the same list of favorites. :P I avoided doing that because I thought, "Eh, too awkward. People wouldn't get it...." Good for you! :)

I actually do "agree with your view," and I think the poem's "nice," but I also think it could be Great. For me, the the semi-random mix of rhyme and free verse felt a little awkward... I wasn't completely sure of how you wanted it to flow. That said, the imagery and the message are beautiful and come through the words, especially "I taste the rain." Nature is God's gift to mankind, the way a child is His gift to his parents; love it, marvel at it, don't forget to nurture it.

Thanks:) I do agree He will take care of it, however I do think that humans are misusing what He gave us. Here's an example: This spring we planted a garden, if we did not give it nurture there would be nothing there. We still have to do our part.

Mmm...It's a nice poem and well written, but I don't agree with your view. I don't think we need to nurture natures. Of course we shouldn't destroy it, but God is able to take care of it. Just my opinion. The poem's really good though. Keep writing!

I enjoy this poem, and being among those who wish to preserve and rejoice in the magic and splendor of nature, it really connects to the reader (for me, at least). It had a good use of rhyme, and the rhythms were also fluent. All in all, it's a great poem. Keep writing!
