The moon has set, the stars emit no light,
The night is dark and will never die,
The sun around this world will never rise,
The words of others to me will never lie…
This pen will never deny my solemn words -
This sheet will always keep my words aflame,
Unlike those who destroy what’s created by birds,
And which claw within a mind ever could be tame…
Let honey be sweet - and lemon be sour,
Let night be dark as coal, and day as snow,
Let the season, year, and month count every hour,
Though the moon without a sun, what can it show?...
The moon is powerless and can never boast,
The honey pours slowly yet has its maker,
The flower lives days few out of most,
Is it much a giver as that whom is a taker?...
Let love be sweet, yet still be bitter,
Let love rebuild, yet still destroy inside,
Let a flower bloom, and its time to wither,
Let love be born, yet always die through time…
Let a soldier fight, whether for himself or others,
Let a pencil write, whether of an angel or demon,
Tho’ what good can night, bring forth with no lover,
It lives the lives of many unfortunate men.
