Progression
I want to sing instead of talk,
Not breathe but stop and swim,
I wish to dance instead of walk,
For fireworks, not light bulbs’ dim.
Can we fly instead of crawl for once;
I’m sick of solid ground.
Can we be the glad, not sullen ones,
To raise a mast instead of drown?
I want a pen, not an eraser,
To mark maps and not stand still,
Be a time keeper, not a waster;
Not a burden, but a skill.
