Maybe
Sometimes, when I am sitting in the car
Or when I am in the midst of friends
Or around complete strangers,
I hear someone say: “One day..”
And it leads me to think
That every time someone says this
They try to live in the future
While still existing in the present
Is that why they almost never do
What they intended to
Why they never say
What they wanted to, one day
Maybe we cannot reach that “one day”
Without letting go of to-day
Maybe we can only get what we want
By letting go of what we have
